Vision – Monument – Part 2

In the last blog post I spoke about vision boards. I loved the idea, I loved ticking off things that God promised and fulfilled. It ignited the fire within, that there is a destiny with my name written on it. Exciting and I fully understood the scripture that says, there is fullness of joy in the presence of God.

The excitement didn’t stop the enemies attacks though, I found myself faced with a family challenge. Three years we were faced with the issue, we prayed and prayed and as we prayed hoping to get a response, there was just silence. The 3rd year I started asking the Lord questions, will we overcome this as a family, then He responded. Perhaps what I did before was direct my heart desires at Him without really taking time to hear what He had to say about the situation.

After two years of silence He answered my question. He reminded me of the vision board. He said I want you to follow the same concept of the vision board. Place everything that you had ever faced that seemed impossible but you had seen my hand of deliverance in it. I said yes Lord, I did that, and He said now, this is not a Vision board but a Monument. It will remind you of what I have done in your life, He said. As you remember, it will come to light that I am the same God as yesterday (Hebrews 13:8).

This is what the scripture says,

2 Corinthians 1:10, He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us

Right at that moment, I started thanking God for all He had done before, I realised that my concern was what I needed Him to do at that point, this shifted my focus from what I had overcome through His power. He was able to do it before and He is now more than able to do it again.

It is a Monument, to serve as a reminder of what He’s done before and that He is able to do it Again!

This reminded me of the stones that Joshua put up after the Lord had made a way for them in the River Jordan. The stones were to serve as Monuments, as reminders of what the Lord had done. My Monument board was to serve as a reminder of the power of God I had witnessed in my life. That He is still the same God.

Joshua 4:6 [These stones will remind the people of what the Lord has done]

Few months later, my declarations over the Monument came to reality, and I saw Him do it once again. I saw Him make a way. I witnessed His faithfulness once more.

What is it that you have been facing for the longest time that you even wrote off? I encourage you to write all your previous victories, and reflect on them.

What you are facing right now is no different from what you faced before, it just presented itself in a different form. And the same God that delivered you then will do it once more.

He will do it Again. Trust and believe.
